On occasion of Andesite, Miriam Austin’s current exhibition at Bosse & Baum, the artist will be in conversation with Tom Morgan Evans to discuss her recent work in the exhibition.
Thomas Morgan Evans teaches art history and theory at Art Academy London and at the Slade School of Fine Art at UCL. There, following the publication of his book 3D Warhol, he has developed research material around street culture and its relationship to art in the United States after 1945. Tom Morgan Evans co-authored the exhibition text for Miriam Austin’s exhibition Andesite which you can read here.
Caterina Avataneo is a London based independent curator whose practice presents perspectives that deviate from hegemonic ways of envisioning the present. She is Associate Curator at Arcade Gallery and Curatorial Assistant on assigned projects at Serpentine Galleries since 2018. Her curatorial projects have appeared in institutions and galleries including: Zabludowicz Collection, Kunstraum, Austrian Cultural Forum and Gossamer Fog (all London). She was Assistant Curator of the Lithuanian Pavilion at the 58th Venice Biennale, winner of the Golden Lion, and Curator in Residence at the Salzburger Kunstverein (Salzburg) and RUPERT (Vilnius). She holds an MA in Architecture from Politecnico of Turin (2014) and an MA in Curating from The London MET University (2017).
